MILTON-FREEWATER - Helix continued its season with a first-round playoff victory over Echo at Blue Mountain Community College Monday, winning 22-25,, 25-19, 25-21, 25-21.
Chyanne Hack led the team with 23 kills and 11-for-13 night from the service line with four aces. Niccy Thompson also went 14-for-15 with three aces for the Grizzlies.
"We played well in the first set, but we couldn't pull it out," said Helix head coach Tammie Parker. "Once we got the second game we just kind of built on it and our girls took the momentum."
Helix next takes the court Thursday in Maupin against South Wasco County with a spot in the district tournament on the line.
