WALLA WALLA - The Whitman Reapers rugby club hosted the Pendleton RFC Saturday, with the hometeam taking the 34-12 victory.
The first half saw a tight, close match with Whitman taking a 10-5 lead into the break on tries by center Ryon Campbell and scrumhalf Allan Crum, Whitman coach Eric McAlvey reported.
"The Reapers' fitness and desire showed through in the second half," McAlvey said, as they opened up the game to finish with a 34-12 victory.
Tries were touched down by 8-man Michael Hanley, center Steve Gillentine and two by hooker Dylan Shenefield.
Campbell converted two of the tries.
The victory puts the Reapers record at 2-1-1 as they are set to host Clackamas Community College this Saturday.
