Norman "Cougar" Eaton passed away on Oct. 14, 2010. peacefully at home. The memorial funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Harvest Christian Center in Dayton. Private family interment will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice through the Professional Funeral Directors & Crematory, 2112 S. Second Ave., Walla Walla.
Norman was born on May 4, 1929, to Walter Laura Pearl Spragg Eaton. Lifetime resident of Columbia Country, he farmed with his father on Eckler Mountain. He also raised cattle on Eckler Mountain. Norman was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, LeClercq, at the home, several children, Marie McCauley, Debbie Franklin, Bonnie Johnson, Tim Bennett, Tamara Hersey, Theron Bennett and Thane Bennett. He is also survived by his sisters, MaryAlice Powell of Portland and Lanada Cunningham of Cordova, Ark.; and brothers, Arley Eaton of Spokane and John Eaton of Dayton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Laura Pearl Sprag Eaton; a brother, Walter (Otho) Eaton; two sisters, Shirley Wilson and Myrna Elkin; and a stepson, Mike Eaton.
