ONTARIO, Ore. - The Walla Walla Community College women's soccer team shut out Treasure Valley here Wednesday, 5-0.
The Warrior men, meanwhile, played the Chukars to a 1-1 tie.
The WWCC women got on the board quickly in the game, scoring off an assist by Margo Hickman three minutes in.
Samantha Johnson had her first of two assists as the Warriors went up 2-0 at the 24 minute-mark, getting the ball to Jaymie Balcom for the goal.
Kaylie Winston and Dominique Alston scored unassisted goals at 43 and 47 minutes, respectively, to put WWCC up 4-0.
And Samantha Johnson found Marianne Johnson 88 minutes in for the final score of the game.
The Chukar men jumped to the 1-0 lead over the Warriors 18 minutes in on Austin Durfee's goal, assisted by Spencer Stucki.
Tyler Lawton answered for WWCC at the 35-minute mark off an assist by Marco Acevedo.
Yellow cards flew in the game, with Treasure Valley's Jamie Heath and Hector Pinto picking up penalties, and WWCC's Griffin Hoerner and Paul Herrea joining them.
Chukar Ivan Chamorro took it a step farther and picked up a red card.
The WWCC women improve to 10-0-2 on the season, and they play at Yakima Valley at noon Saturday. They've already secured an NWAACC playoff spot.
The Warrior men are now 5-3-3, and next play at Spokane at 3 p.m. next Wednesday.
