WALLA WALLA -- Because merchants don't want to give up their chance to dole out candy, the Downtown Walla Walla Foundation has moved its traditional business trick-or-treat on Main Street to Friday, two days before Halloween.
More than 3,000 children and parents are expected to participate in the Walla Walla tradition, where merchants are said to give hundreds of dollars of candy away.
This year, Main Street will be closed again from Second Avenue to Palouse Street to promote safety.
The event is free and takes place from 3-5 p.m. Many off-Main businesses will also participate in the event, including the Walla Walla Union-Bulletin, 112 S. First Ave.
