Mr. Plucker was born Aug. 5, 1922, in Walla Walla to Fritz C. Plucker and Dolphia H. Gluck Plucker. He grew up on the family farm 10 miles north of Touchet.
Warren graduated from Touchet High School in 1940 and promptly moved to Seattle to work at the Boeing Plant. Upon the breakout of World War II, Warren joined the Army Air Corps. He served in the 49th Bomber Squadron, 2nd Bomber Group. Warren completed 50 missions as a tail gunner in a B-17 bomber. The missions were in Northern Africa, Italy, Greece and Germany and he held the rank of staff sergeant at the completion of his duty.
On March 28, 1943, Warren married the love of his life, Dorothy E. Johnson, in Boise, and they were together 61 years. Upon returning to the States and moving back to the Touchet area, Warren worked on the family farm and raised his family. He moved into Walla Walla in 1969 and commuted to the farm each day. Warren loved living in the Touchet area and was active in the Gun Club plus playing baseball for the McNary Dam League.
Warren was a sports enthusiast his whole life and supported his children in all of their chosen ones plus supporting his eldest daughter in her love of horses and making sure she had everything necessary to support her riding. When his grandchildren discovered their love of sports, he was thrilled. He spent hours at all their games and supported every team they were on plus he became a real supporter/cheerleader for everyone on the team.
