David J, Kilmer, 72, of 1001 Jacquelyn St., died Aug. 29, 2010. Private family graveside service will be held Saturday, Sept. 4, in the Milton-Freewater Cemetery followed by memorial service for family and friends at the First Christian Church at 11 a.m. Visitation hours will be on Friday, Sept. 3, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main St., Milton-Freewater.
David was born Nov. 19, 1937, in Milton-Freewater. He was the son of Glenn and Mable (Vettengel) Kilmer. He graduated from McLoughlin Union High School in 1955, and served honorably in the Navy until 1959.
David married Lucille Wibbels in Milton-Freewater on May 30, 1959. David worked for Kilmer's Auto Parts, Daryl Graves, D & K, Birds Eye and for a combined 30-year career at Key Equipment. He was a member of the First Christian Church, past member of the Walla Walla Historical Auto Club and Lions Club. He also served on the High School Board and Tum-A-Lum School Board.
Survivors include his wife; son, Ron Kilmer of Vancouver, Wash.; two daughters, Janice Propeck of Milton-Freewater and Debra Blodgett of Olympia; brother, Dan Kilmer of Milton-Freewater; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
