Nancy Myers

Nancy Lucille Myers (nee Rennings) passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta, on Aug. 31, 2010. Nancy was born in Salem on Nov. 20, 1932, to Manford and Frances Rennings. She was the eldest of seven children - five sisters and one brother.

She married Edison Myers in 1954 and graduated from Paradise Valley Nursing School shortly after. Nancy and Ed had two sons. Joe was born in 1960 in Shelburn, Ind., and Jim was born in 1963 in Sullivan, Ind. Nancy obtained her master's degree in nursing and continued her career teaching in Illinois and then in Saskatoon and North Battleford, Saskatchewan. After she retired she and Ed lived in Radisson, Saskatchewan, until Ed passed away in 2000. Nancy moved to Calgary in 2003 with her beloved dog Maggie. She was very active with her Pineridge Estates Family from the board room to the craft room! She was an active member of the Garden Road Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Ed, and her sister Judy Nelson. She is survived by her son Joe, wife Lynn and their children, Erin and Laurel, of Calgary; and her son Jim, and his children, Amanda and Josh, of Nova Scotia. She is also survived by her siblings Carolyn Mosebar, Kathy Jones, Sonja Gourley, Harriett Guthrie and Pete Rennings as well as many beloved extended family and friends.

Myers on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. Visitation from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. as well as services will be held at Garden Road Seventh-day Adventist Church, 243017 Garden Road Calgary, Alberta. A graveside service will be held in Radisson, Saskatchewan, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 32 Ave N.E. Calgary, AB T2E 6Z3.
