Burbank manhandles Granger in football matchup

BURBANK - The Columbia-Burbank Coyotes ran over the Granger Spartans, 26-7, here Friday in the season-opening game.

On the ground, the Coyotes ran for 244 yards and the Spartans ran for just over 100 yards.

Columbia-Burbank was led on the ground by senior back Forest Gordon, who ran for 114 yards on 20 carries.

The passing game for Burbank was even more potent than the running game, with 218 yards through the air and four touchdowns.

Junior quarterback Heath Lawrence completed 17-of-26 passes and had over 200 yards passing to go with the four scores.

Senior wide receiver Kevin Ireland caught two of the touchdowns for the Coyotes.
