WALLA WALLA - An armed bank robbery was reported at a local bank Saturday afternoon.
The incident is believed to involve at least one male suspect armed with a firearm, but officers were not ready to give a full report as they were still questioning witnesses and searching the area.
The robbery was reported at around 4:50 p.m., just before closing time at Banner Bank, 600 S. Ninth Ave.
No emergency medical units were at the scene, but shortly after the robbery, police had taped off the entrance to Banner Bank as they questioned witnesses.
Several area businesses also were searched and a number of police vehicles, motorcycles and officers on foot were seen searching the area.
