WALLA WALLA -- Two teenagers have pleaded innocent to raping a 15-year-old girl in June while in a vehicle off Mill Creek Road.
Cager J. York, 18, of 2363 S. Wilbur Ave., is scheduled for trial Oct. 26 in the adult division of Superior Court. He entered not-guilty pleas to two felony charges Tuesday afternoon.
Co-defendant Daijohn A. Gonzalez, 17, of 316 S. 10th Ave., pleaded innocent at his arraignment Friday in the court's Juvenile Department. A Sept. 30 trial date was set.
Both are accused of second-degree rape and indecent liberties.
Officials said that late on June 4 or early June 5, the girl -- who is acquainted with York and Gonzalez -- was walking to a friend's house near Pioneer Park when she received text messages and a phone call from York. He and Gonzalez picked the girl up in a van and York eventually drove them to what apparently is Harbert Road off Mill Creek, according to a Sheriff's Office report filed in court.
Once parked, York and Gonzalez allegedly raped the girl. They then traveled back to Walla Walla and the girl got out of the van near Isaacs and Wilbur avenues, officials said.
The indecent liberties charge against Gonzalez accuses him of fondling a different 15-year-old girl a few days later near the corner of Colville and Cherry streets in Walla Walla.
The defendants were arrested Aug. 25. Bail for York, who was booked into the County Jail, was set at $50,000. Gonzalez is being detained in the county's Juvenile Justice Center.
