Jack and Margy McDonald of Walla Walla celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at a family gathering hosted by their children. The couple met while attending Whitman College and married after graduation on Aug. 19, 1950. Margy's maiden name is Burr.

Jack has been an active member of Exchange Club of Walla Walla for more than 50 years. He held several state and national offices for the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of Washington and America in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He enjoys reading, playing cards with friends, and watching sporting events.

Margy continues to be active weekly in the Meals on Wheels program, PEO Chapter BI, and the Altar Guild and soup and pie lunches for St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She attends all piano recitals, band concerts and sporting events of her grandchildren.

She also enjoys baking for family and neighbors without a special occasion needed.

They have two daughters, Mary Lynn Thompson of Walla Walla and Nancy McLean of Kennewick; one son, J.D.
