Garfield County Fair kicks off Friday

POMEROY -- "Don't Fence Me In," is the theme of the three-day Garfield County Fair which opens Friday.

There will be plenty of kids' games, a good selection of livestock to buy at the market animal auction, and new this year a beer garden.

Another new event is a mounted shooters demonstration Saturday, in the rodeo arena.

The Friday evening parade begins at 6 p.m. on Columbia Street at 11th Street, and will return on the eastbound lane.

Food vendors tempt the palate with hamburgers, pie, tacos, Germany sausage, ice cream bars, campfire pies, or barbecue beef sandwiches.

Sunday afternoon rodeo fans can watch the Pony Punchers Rodeo at the rodeo arena.
