WALLA WALLA - DeSales lost a Blue Mountain League 2B volleyball match to visiting Asotin here Tuesday.

The Irish (1-2) lost in four sets (16-25, 25-20, 24-26, 11-25).

"It was a really scrappy game," said Irish head coach Lori Blanc. "We played some good defense and I felt like we played well. We kept their middles from being a threat in the game and forced them to go outside.

"But we had some unforced errors at inopportune times, where it was necessary to have stopped them."

Stephanie Ferrel led the Irish with 15 kills, Abby Larreau had 11 kills, Annie Higgins had eight, Megan Moberg had three and Chantel Blanc had two.

Blanc also had 30 assists. Alex Buley and Megan Moberg had two blocks each.

Larreau was also 12-for-12 serving.

The Irish play at Waitsburg-Prescott Thursday.

"I never doubt the girls will play hard," Blanc said. "They always play all-out and they're a very scrappy, good defensive team, so that's what's going to help us."
