WALLA WALLA - Walla Walla Valley Academy kept visiting Tri-Cities Prep at bay in a volleyball match here Wednesday.

The Knights went 3-1 (25-9, 24-26, 25-14, 25-17) in the win.

"It was a good game and the girls played well," said WWVA coach Scott Schafer. "We struggled a little in the second game - we had some calls that went against us and broke down a little - but we got it back together and did all right."

Kelsie Schafer led the Knights with 16 kills, Brooklyn Larson had 15 assists and Bri Leen had three blocks. Kelsie Grady went 20-of-21 from the serving line and had 10 aces.

"Tri-Cities Prep is a young team and they work hard," Schafer said. "They're scrappy and they go after it. But we've got a lot of seniors. We'll see how we do today."

The Knights play at Dayton today at 5:30 p.m., and host Liberty Christian Thursday.

"Liberty Christian is strong, so we'll see what happens this week," Schafer said.
