In the Mood, the 1940s Big Band Swing Dance Musical Revue, will perform 7:30 p.m. Sept. 30 at Cordiner Hall at Whitman College, 345 Boyer Ave.

The show is celebrating its 17th season of national touring this year and last played in Walla Walla in 2009. Since then, the show has been revamped with a number of new swing-era classics added to the mix.

In The Mood celebrates America's Greatest Generation through the music of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Harry James, Erskine Hawkins, The Andrews Sisters, Frank Sinatra and other greats of the 1940s. Featuring a company of 19 on stage, including the In the Mood Singers and Dancers with the String of Pearls Big Band Orchestra, the show's music arrangements, costumes and choreography are as authentic as it gets.

Tickets, $29 and $39, are available at Earthlight Books, Whitman College Bookstore and online at tix.com. For more information on this performance, visit ArtBeatShows.org.
