Boyd, 91, died September 23, 2010, at Regency at The Park,
420 SE Myra Road, College Place, Washington.
There will be a memorial service in the Spring of
2011. Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Mountain
Television or charity of donor's choice through Mountain
View-Colonial Dewitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road,
Walla Walla, Washington 99362.
Mrs. Boyd was born March 17, 1919, in Fruita,
Colorado, to Leroy S. and Myrtle D. Hayden Smith.
She attended schools in Fruita. On January 16, 1937,
she and Clarence Boyd married in Fruita. She enjoyed
her role as a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
She was secretary and bookkeeper for the family
business, Boyd Construction.
She loved doing handiwork including knitting,
crochet, and Brazilian embroidery. She and her husband
traveled extensively in their younger years, and
helped build many churches and schools around the
world. She was a member of the Village Seventh-day
Adventist Church, serving on the funeral and the guest
dinner committee at the church and leading in the Kindergarten
Florence is survived by her son and daughter-inlaw,
Norman and Yolanda Boyd of Superior, Montana;
three grandsons: Monte and Max Boyd of Monroe,
Washington and Jack Boyd, currently serving as a missionary
pastor in Taiwan; six great-grandchildren, one
great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence,
on November 21, 2008; her parents and four brothers:
Dee L. Smith, Norman L. Smith, Max H. Smith and
Lyndon C. Smith.
