Pomeroy volleyball rallies for five-set victory over Tekoa-Oakesdale

TEKOA, Wash. - Pomeroy's volleyball team rallied for a five-set win at Tekoa-Oakesdale Thursday to improve to 6-3 overall and 4-1 in league play.

After dropping the first two sets 12-25 and 18-25, Pomeroy bounced back to take the next three 25-23, 25-22, 15-12.

"Well, we weren't hardly there in the first two games," said Pomeroy head coach Bruce Crossfield. "In the third game, we decided to play, and gained our confidence once we got going."

Kindsey Bott led Pomeroy with seven blocks and added eight kills, while Sadie Slaybaugh posted a team-high eight kills and nine digs. Melissa Bartlow was 17-for-17 from the service line, and Mackie Monahan went 14-for-15 with three aces.

Up next for Pomeroy is the Boarder Battle on its home floor, which features teams from Idaho and Washington, including Dayton, on Saturday.
