UNION, Ore. - Weston-McEwen's volleyball team carried its strong preseason play into Blue Mountain Conference action here Thursday night, scoring a 3-0 win over Union.
The TigerScots rolled 25-12, 25-7, 25-7 over their league opponent to run their overall record 11-1.
"It was a feel good day for us," said Weston-McEwen head coach Shawn White. "I think it was pretty clearly our best match of the year because we have won games by similar scores, but Union played a better game than some of the teams we have seen."
Morgan Entze led the way for the TigerScots with 10 assists, three kills and seven digs. Jordan Reger added seven assists and Tiffany Cain posted seven kills, seven digs and six aces.
Renee Baumann chipped in with eight digs and six kills, while Jaymie Zimmerman continued her dominant service season with a 14-of-15 night and three aces.
"We were down in that first set early and Jaymie got us on a run," White said. "From there on we were able to take control, but she really keyed game one."
Haley Freske added three kills and five blocks, and the TigerScots also got four kills from Molly von Borstel and eight digs from LeAnne Harnden.
"We did well in every aspect, whether it was passing, setting, service receiving," White said. "It was a really nice job by our team."
Up next for the TigerScots are another pair of league matches on Saturday in Stanfield against Heppner and the host school.
