Dave Warkentin, the former chief executive officer of the Walla Walla Valley Chamber of Commerce, has resigned his new post as the head of the chamber in Chandler, Ariz., after nine months on the job, according to a report in The Arizona Republic.

Warkentin reportedly left the position for a job with a high-tech company owned by a Walla Walla resident. He will remain in Arizona as the SouthwestConnect USA director and State Director Arizona for Sygnifi Networks, a business owned by Walla Walla resident Greg Troin, the article said.

Sygnifi had redesigned the websites for the Chandler Chamber and the East Valley Chambers of Commerce Alliance at no cost because of the friendship between Warkentin and Troin.

Warkentin is the third director to leave the Chandler Chamber in as many years. He served as CEO for the Walla Walla Chamber for eight years before leaving that post May 28.
