Renovation of the 414 S. Park St. building of Camp Fire USA of Walla Walla.
Timeline: The first phase of a three-phase project began last summer with a sewer upgrade. The next part of the project is the renovation of the building. The project broke ground Feb. 14 and work on the building began Feb. 28. Plans include a modern kitchen, new conference room and full handicap accessibility. The third phase, which includes updated technology, will begin in July.
Cost: All three phrases will cost approximately $420,000. The renovation is being covered in part by a $270,000 grant from the Sherwood Trust awarded in June 2010. The additional $150,000 is being raised by the local office. Phase I was approximately $29,778. Phase II is $307,936 and Phase III is $82,286.
Contractor: Jeff Moeller Construction.
Details: New construction on the main floor will add about 230 square feet. About 280 square feet will be added to increase storage in the basement.
