MILTON-FREEWATER -- For this year's Earth Day, the Walla Walla Watershed Basin Council is sponsoring a local SOLV IT project, maintaining the Harris County Park trail, on April 16 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Volunteers should sign up online at www.solv.org (follow the links for SOLV IT) or call 503-844-9571. Volunteers should dress for the weather, wear work boots, and bring shovels, hand pruners, loppers, rakes, work gloves, drinking water and a lunch.
To get to the park, turn left off Highway 11 at the south end of the city and head toward Harris Park on River Road. When the road forks, stay right to go to Harris Park.
Volunteers should meet in the park's picnic parking area.
