DUFUR - Weston-McEwen pounded out 28 hits here Saturday to sweep a Special District Six baseball doubleheader.
The TigerScots rapped out three home runs and collected 15 hits to win the opener 12-4 over Dufur. W-M collected 13 more hits in posting a five-inning 14-4 win in the nightcap.
Dallas Reich led the barrage for the TigerScots with a perfect six-for-six day at the plate. Reich hit three home runs and knocked in nine runs.
"We hit the ball well all day," TigerScots coach T.J. Haguewood said. "Our top four (in the lineup) set the table going 19-for-24 on the day. There was no fence but Reich's homers were absolutely murdered."
Reich, Aaron Speed, and Elliot Salter all went yard in the game-one win. Speed, Reich and Drew Greenwalt each had three hits to lead the offense.
A 10-run first settled the nightcap in a hurry. The TigerScots put the 10 spot up and coasted home with a five-inning, 14-4 win.
Reich blasted two home runs as he collected three hits. Speed, Greenwalt, and Bobby McAllister each chipped in a pair of hits.
"We're starting to come around," Haguewood said. "Guys are working to get better and it's showing."
The wins improve the TigerScots to 3-1 in league. W-M hosts Sherman County in a doubleheader at 11 a.m. Saturday.
