WALLA WALLA -- Issues and challenges impacting women veterans will be the subject of Thursday's event at the Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Organizers are presenting a forum for women veterans, their families and friends, plus any interested community members from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in Bldg. 78.
Topics will include services available for women at the VA, recognizing and healing from depression, effective communication, healthy living through simple nutrition and a panel discussion about moving forward after sexual assault and domestic violence.
The day will begin with presentation of the colors and a brief memorial presentation honoring women who gave their lives in service.
There will also be tables set up with health and other information. A light lunch will be provided and the The VA Canteen Cafe and Store will be open.
