May 31, 1935 - April 7, 2011
Glenna Mae Howard, 75, passed quietly on to eternal life on April 7, 2011. Born May 31, 1935, in Mitchell, Neb., she was the second daughter of Robert & Viola Stephens Stewart. The family moved to Walla Walla when Glenna was just a toddler. She attended Berney Elementary and graduated from Wa-Hi.
Kind and gently by nature, Glenna spent many years providing a loving and safe environment for children entrusted to her care. Later years were spent in providing this same loving kindness in the care of the elderly. Her family is grateful that she was able to provide the same care for her parents in their final years.
A devout Christian, who loved the "old" hymns, she was a member of Grace Methodist Church and their United Methodist Women's group in Walla Walla.
She is survived by her loving sister, Ramona Stewart-Kessler and her husband Edwin, of Walla Walla; nephews, Stewart Kessler wife Ellen of Nanaimo, BC; Stephen Kessler wife Debra of Lakewood, Calif.; Stanton Kessler wife Suzanne of Schaumberg, Ill.; and seven great nephews. Glenna included in her family, her best friend, Marge Bundy of Walla Walla.
