PASCO - Dayton swept through Tri-Cities Prep to open its Southeast 2B league baseball schedule Tuesday.
The Bulldogs picked up both games in five innings by the same score, 17-6.
Although the two wins lock the Bulldogs in at 2-0 to start league, they weren't error-free.
The Bulldogs made three errors in the second inning of the first game, allowing the Jaguars six runs as T-C Prep grabbed a 6-6 tie.
"Those killed us," said Dayton coach Sal Benavides. "We haven't been settling down the way we need to. But we picked it up again."
Dayton scored five runs in the top of the third to grab the lead again, and kept the Jaguars scoreless for the rest of the night.
Wyatt Frame had a bases-loaded triple for three RBIs in the inning.
"That was big for us," Benavides said. "That got us going again and we played real good baseball after that."
The play continued into game two, when the Bulldogs had a 6-3 lead after one.
"We moved the runners along and had three or four sacrifices," Benavides said. "When we did make outs, we made good, productive outs."
Joey Schlachter was 7-for-7 on the day. Logan Hays picked up three hits.
The Bulldogs play at DeSales on Saturday.
