Pomeroy School District Board members are Paul Ruark, Lori Slaybaugh, Steve Carlson, Bart Gingerich and Ed Sullivan. With all present Thursday the board:

MODERNIZATION: Learned the Junior-Senior High modernization project is expected to reach the constructability review state between May 9-13. Also discussed costs for potential rental agreements and utilities.

BUDGET: Discuss funding priorities along with items prioritized on the levy. Learned the state House budget includes an increase $1,500 over the past year in funding while the governor's budget has a decrease of about $44,000.

ENROLLMENT: Learned enrollment is stable at 310 full-time equivalent students, which is 15 FTE over the number of students the budget is based on. Any loss of revenue through the Legislature has been compensated for by the funding generated by the additional 15 FTE students per month.

COACHES: Learned head football coach Scott McGee requested assignment to an assistant position due to having less time.

SURPLUS BUS: Accepted bid of $1,221 for a surplus bus. Don Richardson of Pomeroy was the successful bidder.

CLOSED SESSION: Following an executive session the board approved hiring Brian Slaybaugh as head wrestling coach. He has 17 years experience as Lil' Guy Wresting and Junior High wrestling coach. Approved hiring Kayleigh Hardesty as assistant golf coach. Unanimous.
