WENATCHEE - Wa-Hi's girls golfed to third place at a seven-team Big Nine pod match at Three Lakes Golf Course in Wenatchee Tuesday.
The Blue Devils carded a team 412 with three personal bests on the day, said team captain Larissa Mercado.
"Our team's really young and I'm really proud of how they played," she said. "Our freshmen held their own and they keep pushing forward."
Richland scored 355 to win, followed by Wenatchee's 406, Wa-Hi's 412, Chiawana's 427, Moses Lake's 454 and Davis' 552. Eisenhower was incomplete.
Richland's Mary McDonald had a seven over par-72 to medal, while four other Bombers rounded out the top 10.
Wa-Hi was led by Jessica Huntsman's fifth-place 92. Kendall Dunovant had a 97 for eighth place.
Dunovant's score was a personal best, Mercado said.
Cassie Patterson had a 104, while Marisa Jimenez and Mercado had a 119.
Shanna Postlewait had a noncounting 131 for the Blue Devils.
Patterson and Jimenez both knocked nearly 10 strokes off their previous personal bests.
"They all did great," Mercado said.
The Blue Devils are six points out of second place in the Big Nine and they hope to close the gap at another seven-team pod match at Veterans Memorial on Monday.
