Ken Shamrock, a legendary American mixed martial arts fighter and former professional wrestler, will visit Walla Walla next weekend for a training seminar and a mix-and-mingle event with fans.
Next Saturday, Shamrock will teach an all-ages seminar at Calhoons Martial Arts and Fitness, 1711 E. Isaacs Ave., from 9 a.m.-noon Spots for the event can be reserved by calling Brian Shields at 540-4544.
Later that night, Shamrock will head over to the Red Monkey for the airing of the UFC 129 Pay-Per-View from 6-9 p.m.
Immediately afterward will be an after-fight party with UFC memorabalia giveaways and photo opportunities with Shamrock. General admission is $10. Table reservations available for four to 10 people are $20 per person. Shields can also be reached for reservations and details.
Shamrock is one of the most recognized mixed martial arts fighters.
He is best known for his participation in the Ultimate Fighting Championships, Pride Fighting Championships, former World Wrestling Federation, Total Nonstop Wrestling Action and Pancrase.
In 2003 the four-time UFC Heavyweight Champion was elected to the organization's Hall of Fame. He was the first UFC Superfight Heavyweight Champion, the first Pancrase Heavyweight World Champion, the former WWF Intercontinental Champion, as well as World Tag Team Champion and many more.
He is a subject matter expert in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program and is the author of two books, "Inside the Lion's Den" and "Beyond the Lion's Den."
The Walla Walla Sears store will celebrate Easter by handing out prize-containing eggs Saturday.
The store at 1631 W. Rose St. will hand out one egg per customer. The eggs will contain prizes, surprises or treats, including a select number of coupons ranging from 5 to 10 percent off discounts on purchases. One egg will include 15 percent off one item in the store. Other prizes include gift cards.
Kids 16 and younger will receive eggs filled with candy and prizes, as well as balloons.
Those who color an Easter picture and return it by Saturday will receive a prize while supplies last.
A parking lot sale will also be part of the event. Grills and lawn equipment will featured.
Additionally, the store is looking for volunteers of all ages to appear in its spring fashion show May 1. Anyone interested should call 522-5372 by Thursday.
