DAYTON -- Dayton Days promoters have found an insurance policy within their financial reach, so plans are moving forward, to hold the Memorial Day weekend with rodeo and parade, Columbia County Fair manager Shane Laib said this morning.
Organizers met Thursday night, and decided to move forward with plans to hold a rodeo, parade and queen's luncheon, despite the suspension of parimutuel racing due to lack of state support.
The Columbia County Fair Board is running the event this year.
Events May 28-29 will include a jackpot rodeo at 1 p.m. Saturday, a parade Saturday morning, queen's luncheon to follow the parade, and Pro West rodeo at 7 p.m.
Sunday events will include 10 a.m. slack timed events, and Pro West rodeo at 7 p.m.
Dayton Days queen candidate Bekka Adams will represent the event Saturday at the Asotin County Fair.
The Columbia County Fair float will also debut Saturday in the Asotin parade.
