UMATILLA - Mac-Hi placed first and Weston-McEwen was fourth here Saturday during the Umatilla Invitational tennis tournament.
The Pioneers accumulated 35 points and the TigerScots racked up 14.
W-M's Daniel Winn finished second in the boys singles competition. He defeated Bruce McMinn of Ione, 8-3, Umatilla's Clayton Forshee, 8-4, and Marion Willecke of Condon, 6-4, 6-3, before losing to Sherman County's Scott Stroud, 6-0, 6-2, in the championship match.
Mac-Hi's Anthony Martinez and Kevin Ochoa prevailed in doubles. They beat Benn Fordice and Kevin Schatzlein of Helix, 8-3, Terran Casper and Jon Carcedo of Sherman County, 6-1, 6-0, and Luis Alvarez and David Camarena of Mac-Hi, 6-3, 6-3.
Mac-Hi's Alexis Robles finished fifth in singles.
