Marina, campground owner says facilities are open

STARBUCK - Lyons Ferry Marina and the Starbuck/Lyons Ferry Marina KOA Campground are not closed, owner Jim MacArthur said last week.

Confusion in the public's mind that the Lyons Ferry Park across the Snake River from the marina is the same facility as the marina and KOA park has led to the misconception that the marina is no longer operating.

"People don't differentiate between the two properties," MacArthur said.

It is true that Jim and Angela MacArthur are no longer operating the Lyons Ferry Park. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which oversees both facilities, is seeking an operator.

Full service at the marina and KOA Campground began March 1, after a three-month winter slowdown.

Facilities at the marina include a convenience store, Snake River Grill restaurant, 84 boat slips and the campground.

The MacArthurs also own and operate Blue Mountains KOA and Last Resort Camp Store on the Tucannon River.
