POMEROY - Pomeroy defeated St. John-Endicott here at Crystal Springs Golf Course Saturday in boys golf action.

The Pirates shot 430 to outdistance St. John Endicott, which finished with 516.

Pomeroy eighth grader Tyson Fieder took medalist honors with a 78 on the 18-hole par-62 course.

"It was a perfect day (weather-wise)," Pomeroy coach Jim Greene said. "I was a little surprised we didn't shoot a little lower score, but we are young and still inconsistent."

Riley Bott shot 84. Joel Meyers had an 87, Tanner Fieder finished at 88, and Wyatt Hyer rounded out the five scoring Pirates with a 93. Tyler McGreevy finished at 117.

Only three girls played. St. John-Endicott's Michal Schuster took low score with a 79 on the par 64 women's 18-hole women's course.

The Pirates travel to Richland to play at Columbia Point Tuesday.
