Pomeroy woman dies in double fatality accident


CLARKSTON - A Pomeroy woman was one of two people killed in a fatal accident on U.S. Highway 12 near Clarkston on Friday.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident occurred at 9:09 p.m. three miles east of Clarkston.

Police said an eastbound Jeep driven by Kyle D. Hare, 20, of Lewiston attempted to pass in oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a westbound car driven by Tina L. Province, 49, of Pomeroy.

Hare, Province and a passenger in Hare's Jeep, Frank Beidler Jr., 30, of Lewiston, were all taken to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.

Hare and Province were pronounced dead after arriving and Beidler was treated and released.

Police said the accident was under investigation.
