DeSales' 50 hits leads to softball rout of T-C Prep

PASCO - DeSales knocked out 50 hits in a Southeast 2B softball doubleheader against Tri-Cities Prep Tuesday, en route to 27-0 and 21-7 victories.

Ashlyn Lyons had eight strikeouts in the first game and 15 in the second, keeping the Jaguars hitless in game one.

All of the Irish picked up hits against Prep's Victoria Nunez in the first game.

"Their bats came alive," said DeSales coach Russ Vera. "Ashlyn said she wasn't on her game (in the first game) and couldn't hit her spots, but our defense held up and our bats really did it."

Lyons also had seven hits herself on the day, including a home run. Stephanie Ferrell had eight, including two doubles and a triple.

The Irish improve to 2-2 in league play and 4-4 overall with the sweep. They play at Waitsburg-Prescott next Tuesday.
