DAYTON - Touchet picked up a single softball victory over Dayton Wednesday afternoon.
The Indians' Nicole Brown pitched the complete game, allowing the Bulldogs just four hits.
"Nicole pitched an excellent game and our girls struggled with her at first," said Dayton assistant coach Desirae Jones. "We finally got some runners on and made things happen in the sixth, but it was just too late."
The Indians had a 3-0 lead after the first three innings, and build it up to 7-0 before the Bulldogs got on the scoreboard with four runs in the sixth.
The Indians scored two more in the seventh, and though Dayton scored two of its own, it wasn't enough.
"Touchet hit the ball well," Jones said. "Every girl on their team got a hit."
Dayton is 9-2 overall and 5-1 in league with the nonleague loss. The Bulldogs host Waitsburg-Prescott in league play on Friday.
Touchet is 8-5 overall and 0-1 in league play. They play again in a league doubleheader Friday at St. John-Endicott.
