UFC Hall of Famer Shamrock in town

WALLA WALLA - Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Hall of Fame inductee Ken Shamrock is coming to town for a three-hour mixed martial arts seminar and to host the UFC 129 pay-per-view event at the Red Monkey Lounge Saturday night.

Shamrock, known as ‘The World's Most Dangerous Man' for his career as an MMA fighter and former professional wrestler, is hosting an MMA seminar with Red Monkey general manager Brian Shields at Calhoon's Martial Arts and Fitness Center from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

The seminar is open to all ages and will cover MMA training tactics, maneuvers, locks and holds.

There will be an autograph and photo session after the seminar, which is open to the public.

The seminar is $100 per person.

As part of the seminar, the Red Monkey and Calhoon's is offering a buy-one, get-one-free deal to all civil service employees, including firefighters, law enforcement, penitentiary, EMS and military personnel.

Shamrock will then be at the Red Monkey at 6 p.m. Saturday for the UFC event.

Admission is $10 general admission and table reservations are available.
