ASOTIN - DeSales' girls placed second in a six-way Class 2B all-girls tournament at Quail Ridge Golf Course here Thursday.

Ashton Montgomery placed third, shooting a 103, and Alyssa Lyons shot a 124 for DeSales' score of 227.

St. John-Endicott sisters Michal Schuster (81) and Erin Schuster (92) won the match with a 173.

Dayton was fifth with a 254. Molly Payne carded a 122 and Taylor Brown had a 136.

Asotin had a 238, Tekoa-Oakesdale-Rosalia had a 239 and Tri-Cities Prep carded a 270.

"It was a very pleasant day for golf," said DeSales coach Lon Olson. "It wasn't short-sleeve weather, but it was pleasant nonetheless. The kids had a good time."

Tri-Cities Prep was missing two of its top golfers, and Dayton had one absent.

"It gives us a pretty good idea of the 10 girls who will go to state," Olson said of the match, which had 19 golfers participating. "There will be about 24 girls playing for those 10 spots, so I think everyone is looking forward to one or two girls from each school making it."

DeSales hosts Tri-Cities Prep and Mac-Hi in its final regular-season match on Tuesday at Veterans Memorial.
