William Boule'

William Michael "Bill" Boule' was born in Walla Walla on Sept. 4, 1958. He attended area schools and graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1976.

During his youth Bill loved playing baseball and a highlight in Little League was the year he pitched and his brother Dan was catcher. He was also an avid basketball player and spent many hours at the Y.
It has been said that after he "schooled you" playing one on one, he would share his knowledge to help his opponent. Bill also enjoyed riding his Yamaha 175. His summers from age 9 to 17 were spent picking
strawberries in order to buy school clothes and earn spending money. Bill was a hard worker.

It was while he was attending Walla Walla Community College that Bill was diagnosed with schizophrenia, a many times misunderstood disease. He was seen as an example to all who knew him of acceptance
in his situation and of great courage. His tall, lean structure could be seen often on one of his many walks that took him all over Walla Walla and College Place. Bill truly was a "Gentle Giant".

Bill enjoyed gathering with family for birthdays and holidays. Even in his last days he knew everyone and welcomed them into his room with a smile and a "Hi."
On April 15, Bill was taken from his earthly family to be with his Heavenly Father, free at last from the control of his disease.

Bill is survived by his mother and father, Claudia and Neil Fowler at home; sisters and brothers-in-law, Terri and John Murphy and Christi and Troy Eggers; sister-in-law, Lori Boule' Powell; five nephews and one niece, Ryan and Natascha Murphy, BJ and Anna Murphy, Matthew and Michael Murphy, Chad Eggers and Aubrey and Thomas Shaver. Bill was preceeded in death by his brother, Daniel "Dan" Boule'.

There will be a memorial service held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Faith Line Baptist Church, 53422 W. Ferndale Road, Milton Freewater, with Pastor John H. Murphy officiating. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Hospice. The family would also like to thank Dr. Davidson and Hospice, in particular Sherilynn and Erica, for the loving care given to Bill.
