WALLA WALLA - The Walla Walla Wrath opened its girls fast-pitch tournament season here at the Mill Creek Sports Complex in the Sports Plex Invite Tournament.

The Wrath opened with a win over the Pendleton Raiders 3-2, suffered a 3-2 loss to the Tri-Cities Banditos but bounced back to beat the Banditos 9-1 in the tournament semifinal.

Makayla Bishop, who took the loss in the circle against the Banditos, pitched the Wrath to the title with a 7-1 decision over the Dayton Dinglers.

"We got really good pitching," Wrath coach Mike Postlewait said. "Then our hitting kicked in in those last two games and we were good to go."

Keziah Doyle was the winning pitcher in the opening win, and Jessica Lambert pitched the Wrath into the final with her win against the Banditos.

Doyle led the offense with six hits on the day. Maddy Payne and Brittney Postlewait chipped in four hits.

The Wrath travel to the Tri-Cities for a tournament on May 14.
