Wa-Hi seeks Hall of Fame nominees

WALLA WALLA - The Blue Devil Athletic Hall of Fame Board of Directors is seeking nominations for the 2011 class of inductees into the Wa-Hi Hall of Fame.

Athletes are eligible for the Blue Devil Athletic Hall of Fame five years after graduating from Wa-Hi, and must have received Columbia Basin Big Nine or WIAA recognition to meet the minimum requirements.

Anyone can nominate a Wa-Hi athletic alumni for the Hall if they are familiar with the athlete's accomplishments and have access to their records.

Nomination forms are available from the Wa-Hi Athletic Department and will be accepted until Sept. 15.

The Blue Devil Athletic Hall of Fame was organized in 1992 when former players of Wa-Hi football coach

Felix Fletcher donated money tobuild the Felix Fletcher Room inthe new gym and start the Hall of Fame.

There are currently 36 members in the Hall of Fame whose plaques surround a likeness of Fletcher.

The Blue Devil Athletic Hall of Fame Board of Directors consists of 30 alumni who meet twice ayear to evaluate the nominations and vote to induct nominees.

The new class of inductees will be presented at halftime of a home basketball game during the 2011-12 season.
