PENDLETON -- Registration for the sixth annual Rock & Roll Camp at the Pendleton Center for the Arts, 214 N. Main St., is open now to all teens ages 13-18.

The free day camp will be 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Aug. 15-19. Musicians and non-musicians are encouraged to attend. Rock & Roll Camp includes music instruction for all levels and a program for those interested in other creative pursuits, including rock photography, blogging, band merchandising and music promotion.

Camp instructors are professional musicians drawn from independent bands around the Northwest. This year's instructors will include, among others, the members of Point Juncture Wa., as well as musicians from Y La Bamba, Deer or the Doe, the Nick Jaina band and James Dean Kindle & the East Oregon Playboys.

Instructors and camp staff emphasize writing and performing original music and exploring non-traditional instruments.
