The doors to Walla Walla's new independent living facility aren't open yet. But a door to its onsite leasing trailer will be next week.
Those interested in learning more about the units at Affinity at Walla Walla, the 120-unit complex for those 55 and older, can drop by the trailer early next week to check out floor plans, learn about prices and pick up applications for residency, said Terry Adams of FPI Management, which is overseeing the project by Inland Washington LLC.
Walla Walla's complex is one of seven facilities in the works by Spokane-based Inland Washington. The company's own construction division is building the more than 100,000-square-foot center at 1706 Fairway Drive, next to Applebees.
The development features studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments. An opening of the complex is slated for December. Studios start at $925 per month; one-bedroom units start at $1,000 per month; and two-bedroom apartments start at $1,200 per month, Adams said.
She said the development fills a need in the marketplace for those who want an independent lifestyle in a managed development.
The complex includes a movie theater, wi-fi, continental breakfast foods and a community garden, among other features. Each apartment has a kitchen, washer and dryer.
Adams said she has received interest in the units from as far away as Florida after advertising on Craigslist. The trailer will be open starting Monday at 11 a.m. Those interested in applying for a space may also do so at www.affinityforliving.com .
