Two Weston men have been arrested for attempted sale of firearms, according to the city's police department spokesman.
On Friday officers responded a call about suspicious circumstances to the 200 block of North Franklin Street at the Pine Creek area.
The first suspect, David Stine, 18, apparently had used the creek to access the backside of an unoccupied property of an elderly resident who recently moved to a senior care facility, noted Sgt. Joshua Henningsen.
While at the house Stine entered two separate travel trailers and stole various items, according to police.
Officers located Stine inside one of the trailers and took him into custody without incident. Several stolen items were recovered. Further investigation lead to discovery of two firearms.
Stine was lodged at the Umatilla County Jail on two counts of burglary and one count of criminal trespass, according the Henningsen. Stine's bail was set at $36,000.
The investigation regarding the firearms is ongoing, police said.
While investigating the incident, officers recognized and arrested Humberto Salinas, 24, under investigation of probation violation, Henningsen said. Salinas has been listed under Umatilla County's Most Wanted list. His bail at Umatilla County Jail is set at $20,0000.
