Garfield County Commissioners are Dean Burton, Wynne McCabe and Robert Johnson. With all present Monday commissioners:
- HOTEL/MOTEL TAX: Continued discussion of hotel/motel tax.
- BID OPENING: Awarded contract for ornamental fencing, columns, and six picnic tables for the Pioneer Park Plaza to Blue Mountain Craftsman, owned by Ron Barnes of Pomeroy. The firm's bid of $11,506 without tax was the only one submitted. County engineer Grant Morgan said it was under his estimate, and he recommend commissioners accept the bid. Unanimous.
- RAC PROJECTS: Agreed with list of nine projects presented by Pomeroy District Ranger Monty Fujishin on behalf of the Resource Advisory Committee. Total money available is $93,056. Projects include improvements to parking at the Stevens Ridge ATV Trailhead, $16,926; Blue Mountain Park extension, $15,000 and Boundary Campground, $13,520; and cooperative weed control on the Asotin County side of the Pomeroy Ranger District of the Umatilla National Forest, $14,625. Commissioners told Fujishin they are interested in accepting his invitation to tour the RAC projects completed during the last five years.
- PUBLIC HEALTH: Public health officials discussed what they will present at the Garfield County Fair in September. Discussed open nursing position.
