As an employee of the Washington State University Alumni Association, I recently had the opportunity to work with Shakespeare Walla Walla to provide a truly memorable weekend, arranged through the organization, for a group of our WSU alumni.
We enjoyed dining at Foundry Vineyards and the Green Spoon, a performance of "Macbeth" at the Fort Walla Walla Amphitheater, an afternoon of wine tasting, as well as a performance of "Swansong" at the recently opened Power House Theatre. Every aspect of the weekend was well planned and organized, ensuring that our group had a wonderful experience. The extra-special touches, such as the opportunity to visit with the actors of the Seattle Shakespeare Company and foundation board members, made the weekend even more special.
Being a native of Touchet I am thrilled Shakespeare Walla Walla is providing not only the Walla Walla Valley, but our entire region, with the opportunity to enjoy professional Shakespearian theater.
This is the first year of the Shakespeare Summer Festival. I look forward to planning future group events with Shakespeare Walla Walla and encourage others to do the same. By supporting the efforts of Walla Walla Shakespeare we can ensure that this festival will continue to grow and flourish.
