Whitman Mission hosts last summer bird walk

Looking for birds? Join noted birder Mike Denny for the last Summer Bird Safari at Whitman Mission National Historic Site, 328 Whitman Mission Road, 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

According to a press release, Denny said, "Whitman Mission is one of the four best birding areas in Walla Walla County."

Denny will share his extensive knowledge of these creatures as he leads a walk around the mission grounds. The walk begins at 6 p.m. in front of the Whitman Mission Visitor Center. Comfortable shoes and binoculars are recommended. The walk will last about 1 1/2 hours.

There is no park entrance fee for this program. Visitor information may be obtained by calling 509-529-2761 or by visiting the park website, nps.gov/whmi.
