POMEROY -- Pomeroy Fire District 2 incumbent Ed Bishop picked up 16 votes to take a three-vote lead for fire commissioner position 3 when votes were tabulated Friday. Bishop had 208 votes
A total of 610 votes were counted, with 31 additional ballots counted since the last count the evening of the primary election. A final vote count will be made Aug. 31 at 4 p.m.
Derek J. Shawley came through Friday's count with 205 votes, an increase of 7 over Tuesday's count, while Justin Warren picked up 8 votes for a total of 197.
Unless the count changes Aug. 31, Bishop and Shawley will face off in the November general election.
