WALLA WALLA - Corey Prugh, PGA Assistant Professional from Manito Golf and Country Club in Spokane, extended his lead headed into today's final round of the Northwest Open Invitational at Wine Valley Golf Club.

Prugh posted a second straight 68 Tuesday for a 136 total and a three-shot lead over amateur Dan Whitaker of Ellensburg Country Club.

Prugh won the Rosauers Open last month at Indian Canyon.

Five strokes back in third at 141 is defending champion Brian Thornton of Meridian Valley Country Club in Kent, Wash.

Cameron Fife of Persimmon Golf Club in Gresham, Ore., fired the shot of the day, acing the 180-yard eighth hole with an 8-iron.

Wine Valley's Elijah Perkins followed Monday's first round 78 with a 70 sit in a tie for 30th.

Walla Walla Country Club's Brady Sharp posted a 77 for a 150 total, with Wine Valley's John Thorsnes one stroke behind after carding a 76 Tuesday.

Amateur Jim Pliska from Wine Valley shot an 8-over 80 Tuesday.

The tournament concludes today, with leaders teeing off at 11:30 a.m.
