Suspect arrested after demanding prescription drugs
Date: August 25, 2011
Walla Walla Police arrested Benjamin Garcia Jr, 32, 719 N. 8th Ave, after a report of anAttempted Robbery of the Medicine Shoppe at 15 S. Colville.
Officers were dispatched to the prescription drugstore at 12:28 Thursday afternoon after areport of a subject entering the store, putting on a black mask and demanding narcotics. Store employees ran from the store and a witness in the area observed the suspect flee thearea and get into a vehicle. The witness was able to provide the license number of thevehicle to Dispatch. The plate came back to the Garcia residence and officers found thevehicle parked there moments later.
Garcia fit the physical and clothing descriptions and was taken into custody and brought tothe police department for an interview prior to being lodged in jail. Garcia was lodged for 1count of Attempted Robbery 2nd Degree.
